Awareness & Outreach

Many costal communities depend greatly on resident dolphins and whales for their economy, and for this reason they need to be included in conservation efforts. To achieve this, my students and I combine research with education/outreach activities. We give talks to the local community, we organize forums and meetings with dolphin watching operators, tourism companies, NGOs and local governmental agencies in an effort to develop a community plan to promote sustainable dolphin-watching practices .
